The Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club is holding a “$10K Giveaway” fundraiser on March 26, 2021. The event will be broadcast live from the RSA Activity Center on Facebook starting at 6:30 p.m. The links to join the livestream will be posted on the sunriserotary.org website. Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance at the Activity Center will be limited. The in-person* version of this event will be filled with entertainment, heavy hors d’oeuvres, as well as the excitement of many prizes, including the finale of a $10K Giveaway! Anyone wishing to attend the $10K Giveaway in person must RSVP to email@example.com.
Each Giveaway ticket sells for $100, is for one drawing, and will admit two people to the RSA Activity Center the night of the event, including hors d'oeuvres and drink tickets. A maximum of 328 Giveaway tickets will be sold, so the odds of winning are no less than 1 in 328. You may purchase multiple tickets.
Funds raised from the event will be used to support River Region Trails as they embark on the start of their project to develop over 30 miles of trails, starting in Montgomery and expanding into the surrounding areas. For more information on their work, click here.
The Montgomery Sunrise Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that will receive and distribute funds raised from this event
The process for the evening will be in the form of a drawdown. All tickets numbers will be input into a professional drawdown software application. Ticket numbers will be drawn randomly through the course of the evening, as we enjoy entertainment and short, informative presentations about Rotary, our charitable recipient and our event sponsors. As tickets are drawn, they are posted and are 'out of the pot'. At selected times through the evening, random tickets will be selected as they are drawn to either win selected prizes donated to our event, or an option to go back into the pot, or to receive a $100 cash award. At preselected times, when the remaining ticket count has diminished to 10 and then 5 tickets left, an option will be offered to those ticket holders to split the $10,000 pot, or continue to the final drawdown to the last ticket. In those situations, the decision to split must be a unanimous decision from all remaining ticket holders. To facilitate this process, ticket holders who are not present, will have to have selected a proxy individual who is at the live event to vote for them. In the event all ticket holders at these points do not have a proxy designated, the option to split will not be offered as all parties will not have an opportunity to vote and the drawdown will continue.
For those present at the event, there will be side game options, consisting of playing card purchases with drawing at the event to 'split the pot'.
Plesae join us, online or in person, for an evening of great fun and fund raising. Someone will go home with some or all of the $10,000 prize, and many other treasures will be up for grabs.
Because we will be abiding by any and all current COVID-19 guidelines, the in person attendance is limited to approximately 150 people. Online ticket sales are limited to 70, and each Sunrise Rotarian has at least 5 tickets to sell.
